So it seemed the right time to add a review about this company since it appears to be a viable alternative to Cash Gopher which I wasn’t really feeling. I still love you MyLot though. 

If you’re thinking it’s a new Latin restaurant then you’re wrong. But it may address your appetite for legitimate ways to make money at home. Gomez Peer Zone is basically a subsidiary of Compuware Gomez which was established in 1997 and has a decent BBB rating  (if that holds a lot of weight with you). This is important to note because it goes to show you this company has been around and established. It’s not in beta!  In any event, companies hire the Gomez group to run tests on their website's performance. This helps business owners identify network bottlenecks and any performance problems that can basically affect user experience and thus their money. The type of things they test is how website performs depending on the type of connection (Dial-up, DSL, Cable, etc), browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc), number of users, etc. It’s not practical for Gomez to buy multiple computers and trying to replicate real world usage and scenarios. So instead they get folks like you and I to join their PEER community and they tap into your computer to run these tests and get the data they need. Are you now wondering how this is all done? You fill out an application, download their free PC Based only PEER software. Then keep your computer turned on so Gomez can see your PEER is ready and waiting. At this point you are in “pending” status. Your account will get turned on and in “active” status at some point in the future. This often depends on demographics and they will tend to pick those whose computers are always available. When you become active, they will start using the software to test the speed and performance of websites. It runs in the background and you can set it so you never even see it unless you want to check your stats.Allegedly, this software has no clue about what you are doing and where you do it. It is not like all those other cookies that advertisers drop hither and tither to target your habits. All they can tell is if your computer is on and the PEER software is running.This all sounds harmless enough in theory. But I’m still wary by nature and I’m sure you are to. It’s a good thing to be in this industry. However considering the longevity of the company and what I’ve read thus far, I feel a lot more comfortable with this company. You must have an Internet connection, a 500 Mhz Pentium III or better, Windows XP, NT, 2000 or 2003 Operating System, 128 MB RAM, and 40 MB of free hard disk space. You must also have the ability to visit secured or SSL encrypted pages.We are not talking big bucks here. Like so many of the opportunities I promote, this is one small part of a larger plan of multiple streams of income. Money is money I always say and every little bit adds up especially when it doesn’t involve doing anything but turning on your computer.One of the things I like is that the monthly threshold to get paid is so low. It is only $5. Considering how little they pay you, it’s a good policy to keep the threshold so low so it’s relatively easy to reach. So what is the exact amount you earn?Well it depends on what country you’re in. Basically, you get paid a teeny fraction of a penny for each minute they hook up with your computer to run a test. Sadly, the USA has one of the lowest pay rates ($0.000125 ). Our fine northern neighbors in Canada and the others in the British Commonwealth have the highest rate $0.0005000. Most of the rest of the world will get you $0.000250. Why is there such a discrepancy? My guess is supply and demand like everything else. You have to keep in mind there are already endless streams of “techno” information available about USA Internet connections and usage. Oh by the way, don’t try to be slick and claim you’re in a higher paying country when your ass is right here in the US. They go by your IP address although I know that can easily be faked. Either way I wouldn’t encourage you to do it. Online time is credited in 15 minute increments and the max is amount is $.08/a day. You could almost reach the monthly threshold of $5 just with this, if you were logged on 24/7 which I am. Like damn near every online opportunity I review there is a referral program. You’re probably seeing more and more why I choose affiliate marketing as an online career. In any event, you’re paid $1 per referral.  But they have to reach an active status in order to get the credit. This makes sense for the company. Anyone that has done a good amount of referring knows a lot of your referrals are deadbeats users that aren’t active. So Peer Gomez isn’t trying to lose money by giving you a $1 for people’s data they can’t even use. Like most companies with a referral program they provide you banners to put on your website. A Status Page  is part of your PEER download. You can choose to have it pop up each time you open Windows, but a better, less annoying, option that most people choose is to just let it do its thing and open it from the status bar icon to check their stats. It will tell you exactly how many minutes you have been logged on, how many minutes they used your computer to process a request and how many active referrals you have. No secrets here, you will always know where you stand.Simple and clean. After you reach the $5 threshold, you get paid on the first of the month via Pal Pal The maximum monthly amount is $45.- The threshold is $5 and to me that is hardly even a threshold. That shows me that are not going to make you wait around forever. -They have gone through several payment plans, but thankfully they settled on Pay Pal as their payment method, and my guess due to the reputation and stability of Pay Pal that will be where is stays.-They have been around for a number of years which is an eternity in Internet years. So it is not one of those beta things or test drives. They have a track record and that is always a good sign in my book. -For a computer geek like me who spend half my life online, the fact that you earn by being online makes this something that is appealing to anyone! -Anyone that has access to more than one machine can put this on all of them just use the same email and user name account and get double the rewards. I read one guy owns a store and has it running on like six machines! -One of the reasons I disliked Cash Gopher was that their software changed ads and did some other funky things. As a website owner anything changes ads on my site is stealing money from me. I know it’s not something a regular user would care about. But either way I appreciate that Gomez PEER has nothing to do with that.As usual I have to take a look at the down side of these things or you would never get the full picture. I definitely like this a lot better than Cash Gopher, but it is far from perfect.  So here goes.- To me I would think one of the ways to take the best advantage of this thing is to leave the PC on overnight and let PEER do its thing. However, in order to do that, you have to disable the 'sleep' mode and automatic shut down features, that are energy saving devices. I know people with laptops that need it to shut down for a few hours because if they stay on endlessly the performance goes wacky. So be aware of that. Will the pennies earned counteract the power used? I don't know, but something to ponder.- Not everyone gets to active status and those that do sometimes have to wait for months. As with surveys there are certain demographics they are looking for and even though you download the software and keep it on and available, they may not activate you. I read the complainers going on and on about this, saying that makes it a scam, when it is probably just demographics. Those same people will say a survey company is a scam because they don't qualify. We here know better. The good news is you can still refer people and get credit for them (only when they are activated) even if you are in the pending or inactive mode. They say to keep your computer running two hours a day. I would keep it on all day, every day at first until they activate me, so any time they check, it is up and running!- This software is PC only. As a Mac only house, I hate when companies don’t support Macs. But I understand that it’s just business. There are more PCs than there are Macs so it only makes sense to support them. Fortunately I have a Mac running as a PC so I can still participate. But if you don’t have this option on your Mac, you’re screwed. - Earning potential discrepancies.  As we stated earlier there are certain countries that will make a lot more and thus reach payout faster. For folks in the U.S. it will take longer to bring in earnings. But how do you complain when you’re getting paid to do nothing but keeping the computer turned on? You can’t but I know some of you are bound to. So it was worth mentioning. - Pay Pal. I love Pay Pal don't get me wrong, I think it is the one of the best ways to go these days with quick and secure payments. I exclusively use it myself. But paypal isn’t always loved by many people for various reasons or isn’t an option. So that may turn some people off. By the way when you sign up for this thing, be SURE the email address you use is the same email address you use with Pay Pal. A lot of you use the free Gmail or Yahoo for your surveys and GPT sites which is something I highly recommend. But for this when you sign up you need to use your Pay Pal email or you will never get paid.- Computer may become sluggish. They claim their program won’t slow down your computer. Yeah in most conditions that is probably the case… but what about if you have dial up? What about if your RAM memory is almost used up? What about if your computer is on it’s last leg and just older than a VCR? These are all things that could could affect your speed when they are using your PEER software to process a request. So if your computer already tends to run slow then you may want to avoid adding anything else that will contribute to that problem. But if your computer is up to snuff and purrs like a kitten then chances are you won’t notice any changes. However I just think they should better qualify their claim.From everything I can tell this seems to be a legitimate opportunity to get some extra cash into your Pay Pal account each month without a whole lot of energy on your part. They have history and a record of making regular payments. It gives companies helpful information about the performance of their websites and pays you a little change for the terrible “trouble” of letting them use your computer. Sure It’s not much, but hey, you know my mantra. Every penny counts especially when you don’t need to actively work to get it. Either way, let me know what you guys think about this company. CashGopher.com is a scam?

Normally I hesitate to review something as new as CashGopher (launched Sept 1 2010) since I like to watch the progress of a new company and look for verified reports of people getting paid. I wait for the dust to settle before I jump on the bandwagon.  But this was launched under the MyLot’s umbrella, which is a company that I and many others have a lot of respect for.  I have been using them as one of my multiple sources of income for several years now. As such I thought it only makes “cents” to review an offshoot of MyLot which is Cash Gopher.

In case you are new and have not had a chance to read my review on MyLot.com, It's basically like facebook. Except you get paid for going on to the site and jibber jabbering about all the stuff you do on Facebook. The money you earn isn’t a lot but you already know I’m all about the mantra every penny counts. 

In any event, with Cash Gopher they go a different direction. You do even less work to get paid. You download software to your computer that does two things. One, it replaces the ads you normally see with the ones from CashGopher system, and two while you are idle, it can use your system to track usage patterns. Advertisers go crazy over this information in these days of targeted advertising. 

I have to be honest with you, you only get paid a couple of cents, the same payment level as you get for pay-per-click, like Hits4Pay and Clixsense for each of the ads they place on your site and from the data they collect. It will depend on a couple of things, your zip code would be one, Some parts of the country are the perfect demographic mix than others. It depends on how much you use the computer and how long you leave it idle, so it can do its thing. They say you can get paid anywhere from $1-$1000 a month. That is a pretty big range if you ask me, I guess it is meant to be reassuring. Either way, it sure covers all the bases.

The second way you earn money, and the most profitable of course, as with most of these sorts of programs, is with referrals. For one year, you earn 25% of any referrals income. As long as your referrals stick to it, and are earning something, you can build up your stash. I don't mind the push for referrals when you ALSO get some income from your personal use. I am an affiliate marketer and that is what a large portion of my income is, so that doesn't bother me in the least. These advertisers need numbers, they want the largest audience possible to expose their stuff to, and in the online world affiliates are the best and cheapest way to do that. So I will never criticize a company for using referrals as a money source. 

You get paid via PayPal and only through Pay Pal which can be a good or bad thing for some people depending on your experience with them or where you live. Personally it’s my preferred method. In any event, the payment threshold is only $10 which is an amount I can handle. I'd rather it be $2-$5, but $10 is a respectable amount. If you do not meet the threshold, it will carry over until you do.

In theory this all sounds okay, but is it all too good to be true? Well, that is what I was trying to determine. Although MyLot has a pretty solid reputation, something isn’t sitting right with me about this Cash Gopher opportunity. Apparently a lot of people on MyLot are discussing the same concerns.  So let’s dive into the issues with this opportunity.

No Payment Proof as of yet.

This Cash Gopher thing started officially in September 2010, so now  in early 2011, you would be in the 4th or 5th pay out cycle. But unfortunately we just do not have the proof of payment data that I normally like. I scoured the forums, and I saw neither proof nor complaints about not getting paid. Usually when that is a problem the complaints are loud and clear.  I don’t tell my friends to go to the new pizza joint down the street until I have test the delivery records out, and so I won’t be telling you to try something out when I can’t verify their payment records.

Limited Referral Program

It may have slipped by you, but did you notice that you only get credit for referrals for one year?  So this is not something that once you get enough numbers going it turns into passive income.  You will have to keep getting referrals each year to replace those that run out. I hate when companies do this. If I’ve introduced you to a referral, I should continue to make money from them. Strangely the parent company MyLot doesn’t limit you to only the first year. So Lord knows why they decided to do it for Cash Gopher.

Big Brother

This is probably the biggest concern that needs addressed. I will do my best to translate computer mumbo jumbo into ideas that make sense. The big issue is this software that is in your computer. Many people feel it s big brother like but I can tell you software or no software, your surfing habits ares out there. Most websites use things called cookies to track you and no you can’t eat them. But if you ever noticed that you’re seeing the same type of ads on various sites that you’re visiting it’s usually because of some cookied embedded on your computer when you visit a site. It’s not malicious. But whether you know it or not, you are being tracked. Installing this Cash Gopher software is just a further extension of that. 

Now that being said, having something sitting on your computer that is monitoring your surfing habits could be a total turn off to some of you, I know it was for me.

Technical Issues

It’s been argued that the software  might affect the processing power of your machine which can slow it down significantly. Most of you are on windows machines and you don’t need anymore things to slow it down. It does that on it’s on. lol (You know it's true.)

The other technical concern is that the software used to change or take over the normal ads you would see on sites. To achieve this they have to use some of the same backdoor techniques as the nasty worms and viruses and malware does. That being said from what has been observed it doesn’t do the malicious things that a virus does. But because it has similar behavior of a virus or malicious software your anti virus software will send you panic messages that horrible things could happen if you continue installing this, and that can be a problem. There are some geeks out there that have tested this thing out using a separate computer they have sitting around just for this sort of thing and frankly, they are still uncertain. They do not like some of the codes that are left and unsure about the legality of replacing ads. CashGold made some major updates and changes in October. But nonetheless people left and right seem to be cancelling their accounts due to major pop-up ad issues that not only slow thing down but can cause crashes.

This should come as not surprise to you by now… But, with my wait and see philosophy in mind there are too many question marks for me at the moment to recommend this new opportunity, even if the parent company is MyLot. MyLot is proven and consistently pays. CashGopher is brand new, people haven’t earned enough to get paid and they are still working out their software bugs which is why I don't like joining companies in beta which seems to be where Cash Gopher is even though they're officially live.

Bottom line is that whole thing with the software and replacing ads just doesn’t sit well in my gut as I told you before. At least with companies like Clixsense or Hits4Pay, I control when I'm dealing with the ads. And at the end of the day, I just feel uncomfortable with the idea that this software may be running something while my computer is idle. What exactly is it using my computer resources for? Spamming people? I just don't know.

So basically there are just too many unknowns for me which is why I'm passing on it. But if it turns out to be a safe winner in a few months then great. But for now it's not up to snuff for me.

One more thing— A tidbit from me to you to keep in mind

When companies like myLot.com start something new, it usually an experiment, and an entirely separate business. We saw this awhile back with that Clicksense got GeoString started, and although we like Clicksense we did not like the GeoString. Folks then slam the parent company if their offshoot turns out to be a dud. I sort of understand this because you would think the parent company is actively involved with the new experiment company. But that’s not always the case. Either way, my advice is to try to keep them separate. 

Although I don’t feel comfortable joining or recommending GeoString or Cash Gopher, I would still recommend their parent companies because they have proven to be legitimate and pay regularly.  At the end of the day this all boils down to what I constantly preach on this blog. Do your research! Don’t assume anything is safe or good because a parent company you trust is involved. Take the wait and see attitude I do with these new companies and you’ll save yourself some heart ache and time. 

With that said, we've already found an alternative (Peer Gomez) to this company that we will be reviewing shortly.

Summary 2-4-2011 at the weekly work home

Hey man,

Hope had one week to be great. Another week, another snow storm here in NYC. Oh, mother which was a natural kind enough rain and ice freeze adds to the mix. Thanks… No!

However, all is good. That next week I will escape this nonsense. Wealthy Affiliate was won this year a handful of other affiliates for this super affiliate contest. My prize is an all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas. This is my first marketing affiliate conferences or meetings. It has been my second. Last year I had won. However, missed the trip because I man trip my brother away from the laws. So I excited to rub elbows with other marketers, and some new things to learn.

That in mind please forgive my absence next week. Some time away is going to take full advantage of warm place. I knowledge and probably drink also drink is to imagine. Lol, I forgive there usually no, or all together than the sound of madness is slower, but responses to my emails or comments. Lol

Oh yeah, I decided to deserve almost go traveling solo my wife shout out to. You can bring enough guest like that Kyle and Carson. However, felt deserved time away my better half. The female me good, but I know. You can to manage the snow blower duties when she is away hopefully.

Ten of the babbling of. GE retains the Fort of the mind. By the way, I gambler really. Not my idea of fun as risking money odds are stacked against me completely. This means that besides the normal "men's business facility (... ah hem...) , I propose to see all the attractions are? this is the third time in Las Vegas I blur I always become rare sight seeing. 2010 Is the most laps. Like every year it was filled with nasty work at home scams. So crooks were taking completely this year seemed to thrive than usual, but in a down economy, with the despair of unemployment and ethnic enable.

Fortunately I know about these fake checks and money orders, and go them with your email and other scam someone idiots.

Melaleuca scam?

Today we’re going to discuss an oldie. Is it a goodie? I’ll let you decide. In this review we’re looking at Melaleuca because it’s a well known company that people either love or hate. So I’ll try my best to present both sides of the argument so that you can make an informed decision.

I suspect this review may bring out some strong feelings either way. But as always I expect that everyone stay professional and act like adults when expressing their two cents. We obviously welcome feedback from either end of the spectrum but let’s keep it civilized. 

With that said, let’s get into it. Melaleuca is an MLM/Home based business that has been around for many years which isn’t the norm for such companies. Furthermore it has a BBB A+ rating which may or may not mean a lot to you depending on what you feel about the BBB. So far so good. 

It is a part of home products/health and wellness industry that has been around since 1985. They concentrate on selling the “green” and “natural” kind of  health and household products.. Melaleuca gets its name from the Melaleuca plant, found in Australia where they use the natural ingredients as extracts in all of their products. They of course say this plant is what makes their stuff so wonderful. I’ve never personally tried it, but who knows maybe it is everything they claim it is. 

In any event, the company is basically selling vitamins, supplements, beauty care, detergents and cleaning supplies. There are other things but this is the main push.  The products have no additives, chlorine, formaldehyde, coated capsules, all of that sort of stuff that make them a “good green”product.    

Their liquid products are sold as concentrate, so once you buy it it lasts a long time. This would be cleaning products, laundry and dish washing detergents, shampoo etc.  Vitamins and supplements are generally in 3 month supplies, and make-up and beauty items are normal sizes. The big push is that if you buy what you normally buy, you won't spend any more money, but you will get natural and green healthier living.  

Once you join the company as a business partner will save 30-40% off retail on your household products. You can also try to make  money by building a business and get others involved.

What makes Melaleuca appealing and possibly profitable, is you are getting people on two effective emotional issues.  It is products you normally buy anyway, so technically it’s not adding to your monthly budget, and the whole environmentally friendly thing is NOW a proven emotional draw. It wasn’t back in the day. So Melaleuca was ahead of their time in that respect. 

The whole program centers on this.  

You join the company for a one time fee of $35. Then you are required to buy a minimum amount of products each month either for your own use  or from your direct marketing attempts to others.  This works out to be about $55 each month.  They use a point system that I go into in more detail below under “Forced Purchases” It should be noted that a large number of good folks join only to get the products, they do it as a money saver and as a green alternative.  Most of them never consider the business side of things. 

Apparently the popular way to earn is to get people to join the company so they can order themselves at wholesale prices. That lets you buy your products at wholesale prices. Then you will earn 7% commission on what ever any one of your referrals buys in terms of the products. From what I can tell, I honestly feel that the majority of your business will be this way. This is probably a turn off for most people because recruiting is always a hurdle for most work at home seekers when it comes to these type of work at home opportunities. Lord knows it use to be for me.  Oh by the way, you don’t earn any commission on the $35 sign up fee that your referrals must pay to join the company. I think that’s a crappy policy after all you made the introduction. You should earn commission on any fee the company charges. 

The folks that tend to succeed with this company are involved in a lot of face to face networking. You can try to market online but it seems the big players do a lot of their recruiting over the phone, home parties, etc. So it’s something to keep in mind if you consider this as an option.

The good thing is that people who go into this as a full-fledged business can rise up to different earning levels and bonus opportunities as they develop as leaders and continue to promote the products. So there is a lot of room for growth for the right people.

Commission and Bonus checks are mailed on the 15th of  each month directly to the business partners/members. This will cover the previous months earnings. If the 15th is on a weekend or holiday, it will be the next business day. Why companies still need to send checks instead of direct deposit or Paypal is a mystery to me. After all it’s 2011 not 1911. But at the end of the day, the most important thing is that they pay like clockwork. You rarely find any complaints about late payments. So that’s great even though the way they pay is antiquated. Money is money so how it gets to you isn’t a big issue so long as you get paid for your work.

For people who want to make a full-fledged business, one good thing about a company like Melaleuca, is they have all the product information, descriptions, sales and promotional materials available to help make this work. So whether is is printed leaflets (you would have to buy them of course) or articles and copy to use on websites and email marketing lists, they have everything you need.

On the support side of things they are also a well oiled machine. They have training materials that include videos and webinars, and there is always someone a phone call away to help and advise you.  Part of the bonus structure of the upper leadership levels requires you to work with the people who are in your down line. So that means there will be someone who will come to your house and meet with you on a regular basis.  Local distributors also get together and meet and share advice and motivational and business strategies. This can be good or bad depending on your nature. I’m anti-social by nature and prefer to keep everything at the convenience of the web. So I would hate the idea of regular face to face meetings. But many of you do appreciate being able to talk to a real person for questions and support. So I think this is probably a big plus for many people.  

Like all companies I review, there will be cons. A company that has cons DOESN’T make it a scam. Companies are like human beings, you’re always going to have flaws. But it’s important to know what these weaknesses are so you can determine if you can work around them or just avoid this company all together. Too often I see reps getting their feathers all ruffled when you mention anything negative about their beloved company. But I think it’s worst to present a company as perfect to a prospect because they will eventually learn this stuff when they sign up. Then you end up with disgruntle customers and reps that are going to blast your company to their peers and the web because you failed to be totally real with them about the pros and cons of your company. So keep that in mind as you read through the cons I have identified. It’s not an indictment. It’s just things people have complained about for better or worst.

Commissions

I think it is unacceptable for a company this old and successful not to give the referrer a cut of the $35 sign up fee they make from the new person you recruited. That’s like marketing 101. I’m sure the argument is that you’ll make more on the lifetime of the customer’s everyday purchases, but honestly they’re making enough money to do both. 

Another place they drop the ball in terms of commission is that they do not give you credit for your own purchases! Only the person you signed up under you gets that! Maybe their margins would be too low if they did this or it’s the fact you’re already getting a discount on your purchases? Either way I think it’s a missed opportunity. 

Difficult cancellation policy.

Canceling must be done in writing, no exceptions and must be done by a certain date in the month to stop one more automatic shipment. Not surprisingly this has been the cause of many complaints. A big part of these complaints have to be taken with a grain of salt because we all know people fail to read the fine print on the sites they sign up for. But with that said, I think it’s still unacceptable that in this modern day and age you can’t just push a button to cancel at ANY TIME. After all they made it pretty easy to join. Shouldn’t it be that easy to cancel as well? Making you do it in writing at the right time the stars align with the moon is the type of stuff shady businesses practice. A company with a A+ BBB rating shouldn’t employ such a tactic. 

Administrative issues.

There has also been issues with order mistakes, accidental double billing etc. Honestly that’s normal administrative headaches that happen with any big company. So take that with a grain of salt. If it were a pervasive problem that wasn’t resolved then they probably wouldn’t have the high BBB rating.

Jumping through hoops for no good reason. 

In order to discover the ins and outs of their business, you either have to know someone or have to sign up and get a personal home presentation, phone call and/or webinar where they give their spiel about how great they are, and how much money people make. It reminds me of those annoying time share presentations.  You cannot just go to the website and read about it. If you’re opportunity is that great just present most of the ins and outs on the site. Why make someone go through a presentation and phone call. That should be purely optional for people that want more details. Fortunately for me, my research assistant knows a member, so I was able to get the inside scoop. But the fact I couldn’t get the details directly from the site has always been a turn off for me with any opportunity. It makes me think you have something to hide or want to pressure me into joining. 

Over saturated market. 

One of my major concerns about this business is over saturation. But that can be argued for any business. That being said when Melaleuca first started green products were fairly new. Now Target, Walmart and many other big name players have their own green lines which are pretty affordable, accessible and without forced minimum purchases per month or regular meetings. So when you consider that, what’s the benefit of buying from Melaleuca? Well if you got paid for your own purchases and received the products at wholesale, then it might be worth it. But unfortunately that’s not the case. That’s the type of resistance you’re going to get from people you’re trying to convince to join. So how do you address it? I’m sure a rep will be able to fill that in and I’ll welcome it.

Forced Purchases

Each month you must order a certain amount of products based on a point system. A $20 product might be 15 points, and a $35 might be 25 points for example. Don’t quote me on the exact points but you get the picture. Each month you must order 35 points worth which works out to be $55 /month. You all know what I think about thresholds. In this case it is just an excuse to bring more money into the pockets of the people in your up-line, and you do not get credit for your own purchases! Granted, this is not that high and if you spread things out, you could easily figure out $55 worth of household products to buy each month, but still….

If you do not choose your own 35 points worth of products, each month they will automatically send you an order anyway. This is like the forced continuity nonsense I’ve written about with other companies. It sucks. They’re kind enough to allow you to pick things they will automatically ship to you if you fail to meet the points requirement. But you don’t necessarily find out about that option right away. If you have not done that, they send stuff they choose, which trust me will include things they are trying to get rid of.  

Something smells funny..

Another minor complaint is that there is a definite odor to the cleaning products from the Melaleuca plant extract used in most of the products.  It is not horrible, just different, and it sticks around for awhile. Some people are turned off by it.  Not a biggie. 

Well, first of all I have to tell you there are other companies in this natural, organic green home products line to investigate if you are of the frame of mind to be a “go getter” that thinks they can make this work.  So before signing up with Melaleuca, I would investigate all of your options. This is whether you are interested in only buying the products wholesale, or if you want to build a home business.  The killer cons of the monthly threshold and forced purchases are the reasons I suggest this step. You might find a company that does not have that particular feature in their business plan.

With that being said, I have no problem with this business, as long as you are fully aware of and agree to deal with some of the little quirks I mentioned above.  I would think it would be easier to meet your monthly threshold if you had a large family that takes vitamins every day, and uses lots of detergents, and shampoo. I do know it is possible to bring money in with this opportunity. I also know it takes a lot of work but that’s a given for any business. With that in mind you can be sure people will be dropping out of your down-line regularly, so you will always need to replace that income. 

As for building a businesses, this it’s totally feasible for the right people. If you’re prepared to work hard at a home business, you can make money. It’s that simple. But most people aren’t built for a home business. Folks just want to put in their hours and get a set salary. If that’s you, there is nothing wrong with that. But don’t join Melaleuca because that mentality won’t cut it. Focus on a traditional work at home job. 

However if you are considering this just be prepared for the long haul. Because there will be ups and downs. But for the chosen few, the rewards are great. If you do decide to join Melaleuca I would also encourage you to try the products first before promoting this business. It’s definitely not a good look to push something you are not passionate about or have tried. I preach this constantly with my preferred way to make money which is affiliate marketing.

Trust me I see people slapping up websites all the time and just throwing affiliate links on them that pay them the most. But they never end up making any money because they aren’t really adding value via their own personal experiences. Believe me it’s much easier to convince people to take action on anything when you’re speaking from experience. Why do you think I spend so much time actually trying some of the opportunities I recommend? Not surprisingly it’s also the reason why I consistently tend to be top affiliate marketer for most of the companies I work with. So definitely walk the walk so you’re better prepared to present the business and products. You’ll make way more money that way!

All and all considering the years this company has been around and the success stories, I think its worth a shot for the right person. Like most home based businesses this is based on sales. When you have the proper training (as I constantly remind folks who want to get into affiliate marketing) sales isn’t as bad as you make it seem in your mind. It’s just a matter of putting yourself in front of people that have problems that you can solve with the products you’re promoting. It’s not forcing people to buy crap they don’t want or need. My only concern with this company is that green products are very common place now and can be purchased damn near anywhere. So it may be a tough sell. But I guess that’s why they also have other products.
